NASHVILLE (October 16) — Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation presented matching grants to the city of McKenzie and the Carroll County Watershed Authority for the 1000-Acre Recreation Lake on Tuesday, October 16 at Chickasaw Park.
McKenzie received a $60,000 grant, which will be matched by $60,000 local funds or services, for commercial playground equipment and an engineered wood fiber surface for Mulberry Park and City Park. Additionally, funds were provided for outdoor musical play elements, engineered wood fiber surface and landscaping for the downtown Splash Pad.
Carroll County Watershed Authority will receive $250,000, to be matched locally by $250,000 for the construction of a paved walking trail, pavilion, and parking at the pavilion and at the comfort station, plus additional site amenities – all at the new RV park, constructed on the dam.
