Akin Graduates Medical School

Allan Akin, a McKenzie class of 2010 graduate and the son of John and Kim Brannon and Dana and Saudia Akin, graduates May 29 from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine in Memphis where he received his doctor of medicine degree.
Allan is a Dr. Albert M. Hand Scholar and a recipient of the Drs. Dana and Paul Latour Endowed Scholarship for Primary Care Medicine. While at UTHSC, he served as the Community Outreach Chair for the Council on International and Area Outreach, Director of Faculty and Student Recruitment at The Stress and Wellness Center, and Chair of UTHSC’s First Annual Health Disparities Symposium. He resides in Chattanooga, where he will be starting his residency training in family medicine.
