HUNTINGDON (June 12, 2025) — Andrew Tosh, a 37-year-old Huntingdon resident and father of two, was struck and killed by a train on Thursday.
According to Huntingdon Police Chief Jason Oliver, Tosh was crossing railroad tracks in the High Street area when he was struck by a CSX train traveling at just under 25 miles per hour — below the posted speed limit for trains passing through the city.
Tosh was hearing impaired and had previously been hit by a train in 2024, which resulted in a broken leg.
Traffic on High Street and Williams Street was blocked for a period of time while emergency responders worked to clear the scene. Multiple agencies assisted in the response, including the Huntingdon Police and Fire Departments, CSX Railroad, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Baptist Hospital, Priority Ambulance Service, the medical examiner’s office, and Carroll County Emergency Management Agency, among others.
Born December 19, 1987, Tosh leaves behind his mother, Kathy Tosh of Trezevant, Tennessee, and two children, Riley Ford and Jaxon Clark Williams. Private graveside services were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2025, at McAuley Cemetery. Dilday-Carter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
