JACKSON — Benjamin (Ben) Fulton Howard, III, 62, died Saturday, August 24, 2019, at his home in Jackson, Tenn. A memorial service is Saturday, July 11, 2020, 3 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie. Reverend Terry Hunley of Jackson will preside. All friends are welcome to attend and join Ben’s family afterward at the VFW. Casual attire is recommended.
Born on September 15, 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland, Mr. Howard was predeceased by his mother, Virginia Claire Moss Edwards, and his father, Benjamin Fulton Howard, Jr. He was also predeceased by his stepfather, Howard Ripley Edwards. Mr. Howard is survived by his brothers, William Moss Howard of Knoxville and Vincent Howard Edwards of Providence, Rhode Island, as well as numerous cousins.
Mr. Howard was a 1974 graduate of McKenzie High School, where he was a member of one of the great football teams in the school’s history. He also played football at Memphis State University (now University of Memphis).
