New Year’s Eve at VFW
Join us in celebrating New Year’s Eve with friends, food, dancing, and live music. Everyone is welcome! Champagne toast at midnight at VFW Post 4939, Cherrywood Road, McKenzie. Party begins at 8 p.m. on December 31 with the band: “The Groove” $5 per person. For more information: 731-207-1027.

Low-Income Energy Assistance Available
The Northwest Tenn. Economic Development Agency is accepting applications for the Low- Income Home Energy Assistance Program. This program assists low-income households through direct energy payments to their energy provider. Proof of gross household income is required to determine eligibility. Applicants must also submit a government id, social security number verification for all household members and a current utility company print-out showing the last 12 months of usage at their current location. Individuals interested in applying for the LIHEAP Program should make an appointment at the Northwest Tenn. Economic Development Agency office in their county of residence.

Funding for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program is provided through the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA).

McKenzie City Council Meets Monthly
The McKenzie City Council meets at 6 p.m. the second Thursday of each month.

Carroll County Democratic Party Meets
The Carroll County Democratic Party meets the third Thursday of every month at 6 p.m. at 12740 Lexington Street, Huntingdon.

Adult Education Classes

Carroll County Commission Meets Monthly
Carroll County Commission meets the second Monday of each month, 7 p.m., in the Conference Room of the Carroll County Office Complex, High Street, Huntingdon. There are no meetings in December, February, and July.

Karaoke Night at McKenzie Senior Citizens
McKenzie Senior Citizens Center — Saturday, December 30, 6-9 p.m. is music and karaoke. Free admission to this event as the organization closes its year. Come join us to sing out the old year and welcome the new! Steve Bomar will play your song choices and keeping things going. There will be room for dancing, too! Snacks and soda will be available for purchase. McKenzie Senior Citizens Center is next to E.W. James Supermarket.
