It’s been a long time since we have been able to meet together, but we finally have a reopen date. We will begin having very limited activities on Tuesday, October 20. Senior groups of twelve will be allowed inside the kitchen/recreation part of the center and eight will be allowed in the quilt room. We will have two time slots for seniors Tuesday through Friday, a morning group and an afternoon group. The morning group will attend from 9:30 until 11:30 with the afternoon group attending from 1:30 until 3:30. Our staff will sanitize between each group. Activities will be very limited. We will play Bingo on Tuesday and Thursday at 11:00 and at 3:00. Because of social distancing guidelines we will not be playing any card games or dominoes. Other activities will be added at a later date depending on how things go after we reopen.
It is mandatory that you call the center at 986-1985 and schedule the time you wish to attend. Once we are at capacity no one else will be allowed in the center. Everyone will be required to wear a mask and have your temperature checked. The center will not be allowed to serve any food or drinks. If you wish to bring your own food or drink you may do so, but no sharing will be allowed unless you live in the same household.
If you feel sick on the day you are scheduled to attend please do not come to the center. All it will take is for one person to get sick and we will be shut down immediately. These guidelines are not something we have just made up, they are guidelines sent to us from our state office. Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions.
COVID has taken away a lot from us as a senior center. Even though we are allowed to open we are very limited in what we can do as far as activities. This means we can’t have our Halloween party this year. We have decided to have a virtual mask contest! This won’t be as much fun as our in-person costume contest, but it will still be fun. We will be judging your best Halloween Covid Mask and your best Traditional Halloween mask. We ask that you please post pictures of yourself wearing the mask on our Facebook page or drop your pictures off at our office. If you are dropping off your pictures please call ahead because if we are at capacity we will need to meet you outside. Be sure you include your name with your post on Facebook or write your name and phone number on the picture if dropping them off. We will have judges choose the best Covid Halloween Mask and a best traditional Halloween Mask. Each winner will receive a $25.00 Walmart gift card. Please have your pictures to us by no later than Monday, October 28. Entries received later than the 28 will not be considered in the contest. The winners will be announced on October 30th. Our login for our Facebook page is ccscaging.
