Carroll County Sheriff’s Reports

9/24/19 Edition

Drug Possession — Jacob Daniel Castleman, 19, of 515 Webb Road, McKenzie, was charged with simple possession of schedule VI and tampering with evidence during a September 15 traffic stop in Hollow Rock.
According to the report by Deputy Frank McGee, he pulled over a vehicle driven by Castleman due to a failure to dim the vehicle’s headlights.
While speaking with Castleman, McGee detected the odor of marijuana, and when asked about it, Castleman told McGee that he had just smoked marijuana. McGee found a cigarillo containing approximately one gram of a substance believed to be marijuana on the side of the road near the vehicle. Several empty cigarillo packs were found inside the vehicle. Castleman told McGee that he threw out the cigarillo because he was scared.
Domestic Assault — Kevin Dale McMackin, 44, of 205 Arlen Nelly Road, Hollow Rock, was charged with domestic assault following a September 15 incident. According to the report by Deputy Frank McGee, McMackin’s wife, Bobbie Jo McMackin, told deputies that her husband accused her of taking his wallet, and when she denied taking the wallet, he hit her on the right side of her face. Officers found Mr. McMackin about 30 minutes later on Benson Lane in Hollow Rock and placed him under arrest.
