Carroll County Schools Return August 1

The first day of school is quickly approaching for Carroll County students. With only three weeks until August 1, school staff work to prepare the schools for returning students.

Individual schools released supply lists and class lists at the end of June, giving students (and parents) a month to stock up on supplies. Tennessee’s traditional sales tax holiday on clothing, school supplies and computers is July 28-30.

Teachers return to schools for in-service July 24-31. Students return August 1 with a half day. August is a full month of classes.

There is no school Monday, September 4, for Labor Day. School is also out for students Monday, September 18 for professional development.

Fall break is October 9-13. School is out the following Thursday, October 19, for a parent-teacher conference/data day.

Thanksgiving break is November 22-24.

Winter break begins with a half day Friday, December 15. School is out December 18 through January 2.

Carroll County schools’ second semester begins January 3. There is no school Monday, January 15, for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

School is out Monday, February 19, for President’s Day.

Thursday, March 14, is a parent-teacher conference/data day for students. Spring break is March 25-29.

The 2023-24 school year ends with a half day Thursday, May 16.
