1/4 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, separated
6 tablespoons shortening, melted
3 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup chopped pecans
1 1/2 cup milk
Sift together dry ingredients and add pecans. Beat egg yolks until light; combine with milk and melted shortening and add to dry ingredients, mixing just until smooth. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into batter. Bake in hot waffle iron.
