Friday, September 8, 2023, was a great day for the annual Dr. Jerry Atkins Habitat for Humanity Golf Scramble. With blue skies and a light breeze the weather was perfect for a golf game. Eleven teams enjoyed a day of golf with all the proceeds going to Habitat. Upon arrival the participants were checked in, given a goodie bag, and received a meal from Chick-fil-A. A little before noon Michelle Sanders welcomed the participants and Mrs. Paula Atkins thanked everyone for coming. Drawings were held for sleeves of golf balls for door prizes. Before the participants left to go to their beginning holes, Brooks Jackson, youth minister at the Huntingdon church of Christ, prayed for the players and the work of Habitat.
