McKENZIE, Tenn.  - Funeral services for Harold Lee Russell, II, 35, are Sunday, August 28, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Long Heights Baptist Church-McKenzie.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, August 27, 2022, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, 1 p.m. until service time at Long Heights Baptist Church, McKenzie. Brother Dennis Trull is the officiant and interment is at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Pallbearers to serve are Sergeant Adam Potts, Trooper Tyler Norris, Trooper Murray Norris, Trooper Garrett Flannery, Trooper Tracy Tyler, Sergeant Brandon McCauley, Trooper Michael Kilpatrick and Trooper Ryan French, Honorary pallbearers are THP Class 311, Lieutenant Brad Luno, Trooper John Welker and SRT Ryan Quinn.

Sgt. Russell was born April 19, 1987 in Jackson to Steven and Cherry Murray Russell. He was a graduate of McKenzie High School Class of 2005, University Tennessee Martin Class of 2008, and the Tenn. Highway Patrol Class 311. He was a sergeant with the Tenn. Highway Patrol assigned to the Special Operations Aviation Unit.

He is survived by his wife, Mandi Essary Russell, a son, Connor Russell, daughter, Tenley Russell, his parents, Steve and Cherry Russell, brother, Travis Russell (Bethany), paternal grandmother, Suzanne Russell, all of McKenzie. His father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Trish Essary of Dresden, two sisters-in-law, Abby Mayo (Matt) of Henry and Misty Wyatt (Robert) of Paris, three nieces, Demi, Piper, and Leah and two nephews, Aden and Easton.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold and Faye Russell and maternal grandparents, Finis and Frances Murray.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that you send memorials to First Baptist Church-McKenzie, Youth Fund.
