Henry County Jail Installs Body Scanner

Posted

PARIS, Tenn. -  The Henry County Sheriff’s Office has received a new piece of equipment to help combat contraband and keep it from entering the jail. On January 31, 2024, HCSD received a body scanner that was located into the booking area of the jail.

According to a news released by Sheriff Josh Frey, the scanner will be used on anyone brought into the jail to check for anything they may have concealed within their body.

On February 2, correctional officers were booking in a subject when the scanner found a pill bottle concealed on the inside of the subject’s body. The subject then removed the bottle.

Charges are pending on this incident. The body scanner was purchased with state grant funds.
