Huntingdon Coca-Cola Point Guard Club Christmas Tournament Began Monday

Posted

Several area high school basketball teams are spending part of their holiday break on the hardwood as Huntingdon High School hosts its annual Coca-Cola Point Guard Club Christmas Tournament.

The three-day event began Monday, December 28 with five games. Another six will be played Tuesday, and the tournament will conclude with five games on Wednesday.

Participating girls teams include South Gibson, Bradford, Gibson County, Obion County, TCA and Huntingdon.

Participating boys teams include Waverly, South Gibson, Madison Academic, Arlington, Huntingdon and Sacred Heart.

Tournament finishes will be determined by overall record, head-to-head record and record versus common opponents.

The games will include many COVID-19 protocols.

Fans will include immediate family members only. Tickets are $5 at the gate and only family members submitted by the participating school will be allowed to purchase a ticket.

Family members will only be allowed to attend their home school’s games.

The gym will be cleared between each game.

Fans for upcoming games will not be allowed in the gate until ten minutes prior to their team’s scheduled tip-off. Fans will be expected to remain in their vehicles if they arrive early. If the tournament runs ahead of schedule, upcoming games will tip off at their original scheduled time.

At the conclusion of each game, all attending fans will be asked to exit the gym through the back exit doors. Attending fans for each upcoming game will enter the admission gate at the gym lobby entrance.

Social distancing and face masks will be required while attending each game. Yellow dots have been placed throughout the gym on the bleachers to encourage fans to spread out and remain at least six feet apart unless they are sitting with household members.

All tournament games will be streamed live on the NFHS Network.
