LEXINGTON/McKENZIE (August 25/27) — The McKenzie High School girls soccer team continued a hot start to the season with a pair of shutouts last week. The Lady Rebels have held their opponents scoreless in their first three contests of the season.

Tuesday, the team traveled to face Lexington and won 5-0. Allie Chappell scored a pair of goals and had one assist. Savannah Nesbitt also scored a pair of goals, Maggie Aird had a goal and an assist, and Isabelle Wright had an assist.

Goalkeeper Gracie Dillingham recorded six saves and her second shutout.

Thursday, McKenzie hosted Crockett County and took a 1-0 win. The game was called early in the second half due to weather. Chappell scored the lone goal with an assist by Sydney Fornera.

Dillingham made it three consecutive shutouts to start the season with four saves.

The Lady Rebels (3-0) are on the road this week. They travel to Scotts Hill Tuesday and Milan Thursday. Both games begin at 5:30 p.m.
