McKENZIE (February 9) — Senior basketball players for the McKenzie High School Rebels were guests of honor at the McKenzie Rotary Club meeting on February 9.
Coach John Wilkins said the players are good competitors and good citizens. Wilkins is now coaching both the high school girls and boys team.
Both teams are competing in post-regular season play this week.
Next year, both teams move to a new district, in which none of the Carroll County teams are competing. The District 11 competitors are Big Sandy, Houston County, McEwen and McKenzie. Other 1A teams in Carroll are competing in District 12 are Hollow Rock-Bruceton, West Carroll, Clarksburg, Frank Hughes and Perry County. Huntingdon moves to 2A and play Gibson County, Milan, Union City and Westview in the district.

Senior Rebels are: Jaden Currie, son of Jewell Dudley; Johnathan Moore, son of Terry and Andrea Moore; Elijah Seivers, son of Thom and Keri Woodson and Cody Seivers; and Eli Surber, son of Tommy and Meredith Surber.
Senior basketball manager is Allie Chappell, daughter of Brad and Christie Chappell.
