McKenzie Middle Sweeps West Carroll

McKenzie Middle swept the West Carroll War Eagles in a pair of games last Monday at home.

Lady Rebels 34, West Carroll 19

The Lady Rebels came out with the hot hand and outscored the Lady War Eagles 19-1 in the first period on the way to a 27-6 halftime lead. Several young ladies saw playing time as the starters took a seat after one period while substitute players got to play. McKenzie led 31-13 at the end of three periods and 34-19 at the end.

Savannah Davis led all scorers with 16 points, Ally Gibson had 6, Mikaela Reynolds with 5, Kyeana Sneed with four points and Sara Luci with three points for McKenzie

Hannah Fowler led West Carroll with 9 points followed by Ainsley Worrell with 4 points. Dakota Thomas and Izabel Pierce had 2 points each while Nyona Parker and Shaylin Pruitt added a point each for the Lady War Eagles.

Rebels 44, War Eagles 29

The Rebels earned an 11-0 lead in the first quarter until West Carroll hit a three near the end of the period to trail 11-3 at the end of one period. McKenzie maintained their lead in the second period holding a 21-11 lead at the half. After only scoring 3 points in the third period, West Carroll got hot and outscored McKenzie 11-2 in the early minutes of the fourth period to close the gap to 33-25 before the Rebels pulled away in the final minutes of the contest to win 44-29.

Stafford Roditis led McKenzie with 12 points followed by Landon Brown with 7 points. Hayden Garrett, Drew Chappell, and Carter Kee all had 6 points each. Christopher Beck and Tate Surber added 4 points and three points respectively.

West Carroll’s Will Robinson led all scorers with 20 points while Will Murray had 8 points and Titus Taylor Jr, chipped in a point for the War Eagles.
