McKenzie Police Department to Host Child Safety Training

The McKenzie Police Department is hosting a community training for parents or soon-to-be parents on Thursday, October 17 at the Park Theatre from 6-8 p.m.

Officers will discuss on assortment of practices that can be utilized to keep the children of the community safe from abduction and solicitation. The training will cover children from toddler age to 17 years.

This discussion is specifically geared toward adults, and some sensitive topics will be addressed.

Some of the topics to be discussed are how to better communicate with your child about safety from strangers, safety on the internet and physical contact safety for both younger and older children. Throughout the program, there will be an assortment of information provided through PowerPoint on these topics and many more.

A portion of the program will allow for questions.
