Aggravated Assault — Charlie A. Davis, 25, Haynes Street, McKenzie was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and false imprisonment after a domestic incident on May 22 on Florida Court.
Officer Mark Boaz filed a report indicating Davis forced a female companion into his automobile to travel to see his parents in Trezevant. Neighbors reported the two were fighting. The report indicates Mr. Davis struck the victim in the face and then strangled her to a point in which she almost became unconscious. She escaped and ran to a nearby convenience store, where Officer Boaz found and interviewed her. The report indicates she had markings consistent with her statement.
Driving on Suspended License — Kashif Kalis Bonds, 35, Martin was charged with driving on a suspended license and violation of financial responsibility on May 18.
Officer Justin Brister stopped Bonds’ vehicle on Forrest Avenue after receiving a complaint from a motorist concerning a reckless driver. Brister’s report indicated the automobile did have some mechanical defects that could affect driving. Bonds had neither a license nor insurance and was cited into General Sessions Court.
