McLemoresville Hosts Annual July 4th Celebration

McLEMORESVILLE (July 4) — McLemoresville hosted its annual July 4 celebration with a parade, cake walk, street dance, live music, food, and fireworks.
The annual event attracts people from throughout the area to enjoy the festivities.
Mayor Phil Williams led the parade, that attracts mostly children’s entries.
Wallace and Company provided the live music for the evening on the downtown square.
A cake walk is also a highlight as the crowd hopes to win a cake or other baked items.
At dark, the event culminates with a fireworks show.
Parade Winners
WALKERS: 1st — Reedy Creek Baptist Church: Annalise Porter, Camilla Jenkins, Raylyn Darnes, Kameron Darnes, Laruy Sharpe IV, Natalie Porter, Justice Bigham and Natasha Sharp. 2nd — Anna Claire, Liam and Ryan Russell. 3rd — Gabriel Stutsman.
YOUTH BATTERY-POWERED: 1st — Bianca Reynolds. 2nd — Aliza Williams. 3rd — Caleb Hailey.
GIRLS BICYCLES: 1st — Kensley Martin.
BOYS BICYCLES: 1st — Greyson Garner. 2nd — Fender Foster. 3rd — Christopher Garner.
SCOOTER: 1st — Kinsey Prater. 2nd — Ty Hollowell. 3rd — Jack Martin.
REMOTE CONTROL: 1st — Alex Caviness.
GOLF CARTS: 1st — Jackson Church. 2nd — Kason Martin and Kadi Martin. 3rd — Addi and Ella Puch, Caroline Campbell.
In a non-election year, two elected public servants still participated. They were State Representative Brock Martin and General Sessions Judge Michael King.
Thanks to Carroll County Sheriff’s Department and Carroll County Rescue Squad for providing helping keep everyone safe during the event.
