KANSAS CITY — The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2020 Division I Men’s Basketball All-America teams on Thursday. Chris Coffey of Georgetown (Ky.) was named National Player of the Year and John Moore of Westmont (Calif.) was named the NAIA Coach of the Year.

Bethel’s Cayden Edmonson and Javonte Ellis were named to the Honorable Mention squad. Both players averaged 16.3 points per game. The two seniors led the Wildcats to a 19-12 record. The Cats were 10-8 in the SSAC.

Coach Jeff Britt commented, “We are very happy both are receiving this recognition. They had fine seasons and are really fine young men. I am proud of both of them and wish them the very best.”

Three teams of ten players each comprised the three teams, along with the 55 player honorable mention list. Faulkner (Ala.), Georgetown (Ky.), LSU Shreveport (La.), The Master’s (Calif.) and William Penn (Iowa) led the three teams with two players making the cut.
