McKENZIE (October 5) — During a special called-meeting Thursday evening, the City of McKenzie at the recommendation of Mayor Ryan Griffin, hired Beau Pemberton of Weakley County as the city’s attorney. Laura Keeton of Keeton Law Office in Huntingdon, who was at that point the city’s attorney, was released from the city’s service after the meeting. The Council voted unanimously to replace Keeton with Pemberton. Not present for the meeting were Vice Mayor Jessie Townes and Councilperson Josefina Batton.
