Ruth Smothers Eason

HOLLOW ROCK, TENN. - Mrs. Ruth Smothers Eason, 69, of Hollow Rock, Tennessee died Friday, April 7, 2023 at Baptist Hospital in Huntingdon.

Funeral services are Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Prospect Baptist Church with Bro. Terry Bradshaw officiating. Burial will follow in New Prospect Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Tuesday, 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 11 a..m.  until time of the service.

Mrs. Eason was born October 21, 1953 in Bruceton, Tennessee to the late Taylor Smothers and Hettie (Noles) Smothers. She was the office manager at the Carroll County Technical Center for forty-seven years and a member of Prospect Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Byron Smothers.

She is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, Hal Eason, two daughters, Jennifer Ruth Roney and Sara Beth Eason, both of Bruceton, a sister, Nelda Durham (Melvin) of Waverly, two brothers, Buddy Smothers (Joyce) and Ernie Smothers (Stacey) both of Hollow Rock and two granddaughters, Ella Ruth and Taylor Beth.
