HUNTINGDON — The Shepherd’s Table, the community kitchen located in Huntingdon is serving on the third and the fourth Tuesday in October. Due to COVID-19 safety procedures, the volunteers will serve contact-free drive-through and take out only meals. There will not be a dine-in option until further notice.

The first of the two meals this month is October 20, the third Tuesday, at the First Presbyterian Church of Huntingdon. The church is located at 19835 E. Main Street. Dinner is 5 to 7 p.m. The menu includes sausage casserole with vegetable sides, homemade desserts and a drink.

The meal on the fourth Tuesday, October 27, is at the First United Methodist Church in Huntingdon, located at 201 Asbury Circle. The meal is served 5 to 7 p.m. A hearty beef and vegetable stew will be served with a variety of side dishes and desserts.

Just follow the signs and the proctors for directions at each site. There is no cost for the meal and The Shepherd’s Table is open to the public. Everyone is invited, whether you’re in need or just wanting to get out for a moment. The Shepherd’s Table is open to everyone..

The meals are always freshly prepared by a hard-working volunteer staff. Sometimes hosts and businesses donate prepared items. But everything is always hot and fresh. The community kitchen was created by a group of volunteers that saw a need in the Carroll County community. Its success is dependent on your support. Both volunteers and donations are welcomed.

More information about volunteering or donating to the Shepherd’s Table may be obtained by calling The First Presbyterian Church of Huntingdon at (731) 986-5642. If no answer, please leave a message, someone will get back to you as soon as possible.
