William Denton, 30, of Atwood, was cited in the General Sessions for animal cruelty on November 2. Carroll County dispatch received a call for a dog on Christine St. in Atwood about having a plastic jug stuck on its head. When deputies arrived on scene, they witnessed a dog with a plastic water jug stuck on its head. The animals were also malnourished and appeared to not be receiving the proper amount of food and water to maintain correct body weight. The defendant admitted that the dogs were his.

Hannah Diane Ayers, 25, of New Johnsonville, was arrested for DUI on November 2. Deputy Meier initiated a traffic stop for failure to maintain lane. After talking to the defendant, he noticed her behavior to be erratic. He asked if she had anything illegal in the car when she then stated there was an empty can of 4 Loko. After being given permission to search the vehicle, the deputy found four empty cans of Lokos and an empty buzz ball. After doing sobriety tests, the deputy charged Ayers with DUI.

William Landen Matthews, 19, of Henderson, was accused of burglary/breaking and entering and also destruction/damage/vandalism of property on November 5. The victim called for a service stating that a male subject was attempting to enter the home using a tool of some sort on the side door. The homeowner’s boyfriend, and second victim, showed the deputy the damage that was done to his personal vehicle. His windshield was smashed with a blunt object and a crack on his passenger window. Matthews had already left the property before the deputy’s arrival.
