Unemployment Declines in 94 Tennessee Counties in April 2025

TENNESSEE ­­­— Unemployment rates in 94 of the 95 Tennessee counties declined during April, according to the Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
Tennessee recorded an unemployment rate of 3.5 percent, down from 3.6 one month earlier but higher than the 3.2 percent one year earlier.

The rate in USA was 4.2 percent in April.

Carroll County recorded a rate of 3.5 percent in April, down from 3.8 percentage in March, and up from the 3.2 percentage one year earlier. From a labor force of 12,202, there were 11.801 employed, and 401 unemployed.

Henry County recorded a rate of 3.4 percent, down from 3.9 one month earlier and 3.4 percent one year earlier.

From a labor force of 12,952, there were 12,517 employed and 435 unemployed.

Weakley County recorded a rate of  3.1 percent, down from 3.5 one month earlier and 3.2 percent one year earlier.

From a labor force of 14,112, there were 13,668 employed and 444 unemployed.
The unemployment rate was less than five percent in 94 counties.

Williamson County recorded the lowest rate at 2.2 percent, followed by Rutherford at 2.3 percent and Wilson at 2.4 percent.

Johnson County recorded the highest rate at 5.1 percent, followed by Unicoi at 4.9, and Hardeman at 4.5.

West Tennessee at three counties in the top 10 in unemployment: Lake, Lauderdale and Hardeman.
