McKENZIE (March 23) — Approximately 200 families were served during the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee’s stop in McKenzie on Saturday, March 23 at McKenzie First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Saudia Akin of United Neighbors of McKenzie/Carroll County said the tractor-trailer load of food was distributed to pre-qualified families during the quarterly food drive conducted by United Neighbors. The event was held at the McKenzie First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Volunteers from McKenzie Rotary Club, Bethel University Community Engagement students, McKenzie High School, and the church helped distribute the food to those who were in need.
Second Harvest provided a trailer-load of food - both canned and perishable. It included milk, vegetables, cereal, fruit and baked items.
