Vaughn Named SSAC’s Wally Schwartz Award Winner

Posted

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Bethel (Tenn.) faculty athletics representative Malissa Vaughn has been named the SSAC’s Wally Schwartz FAR of the Year Award winner.

SSAC commissioner Mike Hall: “She is without any doubt one of the leading administrators within the Southern States Athletic Conference. It is very obvious that she loves students and working with them to achieve their academic and life-long career goals.”

Bethel president Dr. Walter Butler: “Mrs. Vaughn has an impeccable reputation and rapport with faculty, students and staff, while serving as a liaison between intercollegiate athletics and academics. She exhibits character, integrity and morals while performing her duties.”

Each conference selects one winner, and the NAIA winner will be chosen from those honorees in September.

Vaughn has served as FAR for the last 14 seasons and has served on the SSAC eligibility committee.
