McKENZIE — The Webb Alumni Association will host a 50-Year Legacy Drive-By Parade on Saturday, September 5 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
The COVID-19 pandemic forced the association to cancel its 50th General Assembly in April and its three-day Homecoming celebration and fundraiser in September.
Not canceled is the historical souvenir book fundraiser. The prepaid books will be distributed during the drive-by parade and mailed to those unable to attend. The books are available for a $20 donation.
The first National Reunion met Labor Day, September 4, 1970. Acting General Chairman Roscoe McKenzie became the first National President, an office he held for 22 years. The group organized a General Assembly, wrote and adopted a National Constitution for the organization and obtained a charter from the State of Indiana on August 28, 1972, later acquiring a Certificate of Authorization from the Tennessee Secretary of State, which registered the organization to conduct business in Tennessee.
Questions about the souvenir books can be directed to Priscilla Williamson at 731-418-1121 or 731-669-3418.
For other questions, call Neal D. Williamson, National President, at 731-669-3418 or 731-535-0969.
