McKENZIE (March 7) — During the Tuesday evening meeting of the McKenzie Special School District Board of Education board members agreed to add cross country to McKenzie High School’s slate of athletic programs. Faculty member Beth Mathis will serve as the coach. more
McKENZIE (March 9) — The City of McKenzie Board of Mayor and Council met Thursday evening with a light agenda. Two individuals from McKenzie were appointed at the recommendation of Mayor Ryan Griffin to the planning commission and housing authority. A.J. Maxwell was appointed to the McKenzie Regional Planning Commission and Karen Fowler was appointed to the housing authority. more
HENRY COUNTY — A boating accident happened on the West Sandy portion of Kentucky Lake in Henry County at approximately 5 p.m. on Friday, March 10. The boating incident resulted in one fatality of a 39-year-old man. more
McKENZIE (March 13) — After defeating the Moore County Raiders 55-36 on Monday, March 6 in the Sectionals, the McKenzie Rebels are en route to the Glass House - the Murphy Center on the campus of MTSU. more
MURFREESBORO (March 13) — Kylie Reynolds of McKenzie is one of two finalists for the Class 1A, Division I Miss Basketball 2022-23. She has committed to play collegiate ball at Bethel University. Kylie and her sister, Mikaela are both starters for the Lady Rebels and helped the team earn the Class 1A basketball championship in Murfreesboro in March 2022 and 2023. She averaged 16.6 points per game during her 2022-23 season. Kylie is the daughter of Stephanie McClerkin and the late Roscoe McClerkin. more
MURFREESBORO (March 11) — The McKenzie Lady Rebels defended their state title by defeating the Wayne County Lady Wildcats 71-54. The Lady Rebels took a quick lead in the first quarter and added onto that throughout the night. more

McKENZIE (March 6) — The McKenzie Rebels are headed back to state after they punched their ticket with a 55-36 victory over the Moore County Raiders. The Rebels started the game off with a ten-point lead and added to that throughout the night. more
