Vandalism — On March 16, a resident reported someone ran off the highway near his property and drove through his fence. Estimated damage is $2,000. No suspects at this time, the last known time the fence was intact was around 5:30 p.m. on the same date.

The major league baseball season opens this week. Many “purists” are upset with three big changes to the game this year. The bases (not counting home plate) have been enlarged. A pitch clock has been instituted. And the shift of additional fielders to one side of the diamond has been eliminated.

One such woman from Tennessee history is Martha Craig Daughtrey. She is one of the leaders in firsts for women across the state. Average gasoline prices in Tennessee have risen 3.9 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.12/g today, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 3,821 stations in Tennessee. Prices in Tennessee are 13.8 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 89.3 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has fallen 5.9 cents in the last week and stands at $4.19 per gallon.
