Members of the McKenzie American Legion, other veterans, and friends placed small American flags at the gravesites of veterans on Sunday, May 28. The flags were placed at the graves regardless of whether the veterans’ death was service related. more
HUNTINGDON (May 29) — The Town of Huntingdon hosted the 20th Annual Memorial Day Ceremony at 10 a.m. on Monday at Thomas Park on East Main Street in Huntingdon. The ceremony remembered those who died in military service to our country, as well as veterans and active military personnel. There was reserved seating for veterans and a red carnation for every veteran who registered at the table prior to the ceremony. more
McKENZIE (May 29) — Memorial Day is a day of remembrance, commemorated to honor the memory of the troops who never returned home from battle. Carroll County’s annual Relay for Life event returns Saturday, Sept. 9, for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. The event, held at the Carroll County Civic Center, helps the American Cancer Society (ACS) fundraise and raise public awareness of benefits for cancer patients. more
McKenzie/Carroll County United Neighbors received a donation of 567 healthy food items (weighing a total of 430.37 pounds) for our first Food Drive event during April promoting Food Waste Awareness. It is expected to be an annual event. more

HUNTINGDON — After the success of last year’s school art exhibition, Huntingdon High School will once again have a new art exhibit at The Dixie Carter Performing Arts & Academic Enrichment Center from May 4 through Aug. 1, 2023. This juried art exhibit will be judged and awards given at the opening reception honoring all the participants on Thursday, May 4 from 6-8 p.m. in the Ballroom Gallery.
