McLEMORESVILLE (July 4) — A long-standing tradition continued in McLemoresville on July 4 in downtown. The events started with a parade, starting at the McLemoresville Baptist Church and traveling a short distance to downtown. WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Loan Programs Office (LPO) announced a conditional commitment for a loan of up to $9.2 billion to BlueOval SK LLC (BOSK) for the construction of three manufacturing plants to produce batteries for Ford Motor Company’s future Ford and Lincoln electric vehicles (EVs). Together, the plants, one located in west Tennessee (Stanton) and two in Kentucky, will enable more than 120 gigawatt hours of U.S. battery production annually and displace more than 455 million gallons of gasoline per year for the lifetime of the vehicles powered by these batteries. The project is expected to create a total of approximately 5,000 constructions jobs in Tennessee and Kentucky, and 7,500 operations jobs once the plants are operational. more

NASHVILLE (July 18) — The Tennessee Department of Education released the 2022-23 Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) district-level results, following the release of the state-level results last month. The results include high school Fall 2022 end-of-course (EOC) exams and Spring 2023 exams in English language arts (ELA), mathematics, science, and social studies. The data is presented by subject, grade and student group, and district. more
