McKENZIE (May 7) — Bethel University conferred 307 degrees on Saturday, May in the Crisp Arena on the McKenzie campus. Graduates were conferred degrees on the levels of Associates, Bachelors and Masters for both in-person and online students.

HUNTINGDON (May 7) — Standing on the shoulder of giants. That could easily describe the feelings of the inductees of the Carroll County Sports Hall of Fame. As each received his or her commemorative plaques, each took the opportunity to praise the people and community who supported and encouraged them. It was the coach, the teachers, the parents, or the fans. Obviously, each knew any achievement was through hard work and support of others.

McKENZIE (May 3) — The construction of a new multi-purpose building is one step closer following the action of the Board of Education of the McKenzie Special School District. The Board approved the issuance of debt, which allows the bond agent to seek buyers for the debt.

McKenzie Soccer picked up an extra game against Henry County on Tuesday afternoon, May 3, and picking up a 3-0 win over the Patriots. Stafford Roditis scored two goals while Camden Allison scored a goal and goalie Will Essary picked up 10 saves in the contest.

McKenzie’s Rebels started baseball playoff action rolling Big Sandy 20-0 in three innings on Thursday, May 5. The Rebels scored those 20 runs on 10 hits with five runs in the first inning and 15 runs in the second inning.
