James Robert “Bobby” McDonald, 1931-2023

McKENZIE, Tenn. — Funeral services for James Robert “Bobby” McDonald are Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 12 p.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, 10 a.m. until service time. Interment is at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Reverends Trisha and Alan Trull will be the officiants, and Randal Lusk, Casey Drewry, Tommy Berryhill, Marshall Russell, Roger Reed, Russel McDonald and Walker Ashley will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. McDonald, 92, died Monday, October 23, 2023 at Arbors Assisted Living in Milan. He was born in Jackson, Michigan on August 26, 1931 to Milton McDonald and Alice Thompson McDonald Allen. He retired from “The Home Office” Real Estate agency, McKenzie. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Senior Men’s Sunday School Class teacher, an insurance salesman, a local historian, and author for a McKenzie Banner weekly column for many years. He was active in many local endeavors including: the Lion’ Club, McKenzie city councilman and the Masons.
He is survived by his sons, Mark (Kay) McDonald of Atwood and Mike McDonald of Nashville; granddaughters, Christie (Leven) Ward, Lori (Matthew) Ashley and Sara Ann McDonald; great-grandchildren Hope Cunningham, Randal Lusk, Russel McDonald, Leven Ward, Maria Cunningham, Anna Ward and Walker Ashley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice Allen and Milton McDonald; wife, Sara McDonald; brother, Paul McDonald and sister Blanche McNeil; daughter-in-law, Juanita (Janie) McDonald and great-grandson, Lane Lusk.
