McKENZIE — Funeral Services for James Wray Boyd, 74, were Wednesday, March 20 at 2 p.m. at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home. The family received friends Tuesday, March 19 6 p.m.-8 p.m. and Wednesday 1 p.m. until service time. Brother James Smith officiated and interment was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mr. Boyd died March 18, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was born April 1, 1944 in Chicago, IL to Leo Clifton and Rubye Mae Gaston Boyd. He is a member of Greenhills Baptist Church in Collierville, Tenn., and is a retired arson investigator for State Farm.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Jane Moore, and a brother, Charles Boyd.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Carol Ann Swearingen Boyd of McKenzie; a daughter, Patricia and her husband Scott Dawson of Coldwater, Miss.; a son, Mike Boyd (Vickie Moore) of Munford, Tenn.; a brother, Jeff Boyd of Maryland; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
