McKENZIE, Tenn. -  Funeral services for Mrs. June Young Brummitt, 90, are Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home. Reverend Jason Jones and Reverend Trisha Trull are the officiants. Interment will follow at Mt Olivet Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. until service time.

She died Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at AHC in McKenzie. Mrs. Brummitt was a McKenzie native, born to the late Harry and Mary Weaver Young. After graduating from McKenzie High School, she attended Memphis School of Commerce, later working in Chicago for the National Congress of Parents and Teachers and CAN Assurance. She was a retired employee of the City of McKenzie and Brummitt Funeral Home and a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church and member of the chancel choir.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jane Bowden of Franklin and three grandsons, Ryan, Joshua and Luke Bowden, a sister, Emily Archer of McKenzie, a brother, Jim B. Young of Dallas, Texas, a stepson, Hays Brummitt of McKenzie and two stepgrandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Pinson of McKenzie, and Lisa Highfil of Paducah and two step-great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jacey Pinson, three nieces, Dr. Gayla (Clint) Kilts of Little Rock, Stephanie A. Bolin of McKenzie, Kara (Derek) Snowden of VanNuys, California, two nephews, Britt (Angela) Jackson of Louisville, Kentucky and Blair (Melinda) Young of San Antonio, Tenn. five great-nephews, Bryce Jackson, Chace Jackson, Jimmy Blair Young, III, Jax Young, and Drake Snowden and four great-nieces Lexie Bolin, Emily Ann Bolin, Christine Young and Ella Snowden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Claude M. (Bob) Bowden and Harold B. (Jack) Brummitt, her son, Charles L. (Chuck) Bowden, her sister, Mary Ann Ward and nephew, Kirby Jackson and step-daughter, Betty Brown.
