McKENZIE, Tenn. Mr. Larry Wayne Reed, 70, died Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at St. Thomas West from complications of COVID -19. The family asks that we practice social distancing and that you wear a mask if you choose.
Funeral services for Mr. Reed are Friday, October 9, 2020 at 2 p.m. at McKenzie Church of Christ.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home with a walk-through visitation. Visitation on Friday is at the church, 10 a.m. until service time. Interment is at Everett’s Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Reed was an assistant purchasing agent for Atlantic Homes for 25 years, a truck driver for H.B. Phillips for 15 years and after retirement a full-time hay farmer.
He was a member of McKenzie Church of Christ, and was born in McKenzie on June 6, 1950 to the late James Olen and Mary Alice Courtright Reed.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda Higdon Reed, two sons, Kevin (Dorotha) Reed and Timothy (Amy) Reed, all of McKenzie, one brother, Harold Reed (Barbara) Reed of Rock Springs, Georgia, two granddaughters Whitney (Dakota) Noble and Darby Reed and one grandson, Olen Reed.
