TRENTON (October 14) — On Saturday, the City of Trenton honored longtime coach and city alderman, Frank Gibson. Pedestrian Park in downtown Trenton was The Frank Gibson Pedestrian Park. Gibson spearheaded the creation of Pedestrian Park, turning a vacant lot in the heart of the downtown area into what is now one of the most utilized and beautiful amenities the city has to offer. more
McKENZIE (October 21) — It was a day of comebacks at Wildcat Stadium Saturday. Hundreds of alums came back for Homecoming and the Bethel football team rewarded them with a second half comeback of their own to beat Cumberland University 24-7. more
McKENZIE (October 20) — The Bethel Lady Wildcats won for the fifth time in their last six outings with a 2-0 win over No. 24 Campbellsville Friday night in McKenzie. It was the fourth straight for the Cats who moved to 9-2 overall and 4-1 in the MSC. It was the eighth meeting between the two programs with the series now tied at 4-4. more

McKENZIE — The No. 6 Bethel Wildcats scored a season-low 48 points Saturday but still won comfortably beating visiting Thomas University 48-14. Bethel entered the game as the nation’s highest-scoring team in the nation at 63.0 points per outing. more
McKENZIE — The seventh-ranked Bethel Wildcats beat a good Bluefield Ram squad 61-14 Saturday in Wildcat Stadium. The Rams arrived in McKenzie receiving votes in the latest Top 25 Poll. more
McKENZIE — The No. 8 Bethel Wildcats opened the home portion of their season Saturday playing host to St. Andrews University. The Cats looked worthy of their lofty ranking, beating the visitors from North Carolina 77-0. more
McKENZIE — It did not take new softball Coach Katherine Hannagan long to add her first player to the Lady Wildcat program. Gleason’s Claudia Pineda signed with the Cats on Monday. Claudia is the daughter of Filadelfo and Johanna Pineda of Gleason and will major in Criminal Justice. more
COUNCE, Tenn. — The top twelve boats with the top twenty-four anglers in the nation competed in the Bassmasters National Championship College Fishing Finals at Pickwick Lake. more
McKENZIE — Bethel Associate Athletic Director of Communications/Sports Information Director Dave McCulley announced popular McKenzie radio broadcaster Craig Lunn is joining the Wildcat broadcast team. Lunn will be the color analyst for Bethel football this fall and selected games during the basketball season. more

McKENZIE (March 31) — Bethel University Board of Trustee member Patty Kahlden was in McKenzie Friday. A longtime supporter of the university and the Bethel Athletic Department presented Football Coach Michael Jasper and Senior Athletic Director Brad Chappell with a generous gift for the football program. more

As he was growing up, there were many teachers and coaches who had a positive impact on Mike Jasper, Head Football Coach at Bethel University, but his mother provided the strongest source of support and encouragement. “Mom used to say ‘by book or by ball or both’ you’re going to succeed,” he recalls with a smile, “she is my hero and played a huge role in my life as a mom, a dad and an inspiration.” more
