NASHVILLE (June 15) — The Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) is thrilled to announce the release of the college-going rate for the Class of 2022. The data for the Class of 2022 showcases a one and a half percentage point increase over the class of 2021, for a statewide college-going rate of 54.3%. This represents the largest statewide increase since the implementation of Tennessee Promise in 2015.

The Tennessee Comptroller’s Office released updated K-12 education information for the 2021-22 school year. The updated information includes data on teacher salaries, student enrollment, funding, graduation rates and ACT scores. New data indicates that the McKenzie Special School District’s enrollment is set to grow back to pre-COVID numbers in the coming years.

KNOXVILLE (June 14- 17) — 4-H Academic Conference is a 4-H STEM event held on the campus of UT Knoxville every summer. Students from all over the state of Tennessee submit applications and are selected to attend the conference, based on their project work. The purpose of 4-H Academic Conference is to recognize outstanding 4-Hers who are actively involved in various projects, provide academic training related to the 4-Hers project areas, meet other 4-Hers from across the state, and experience life on a college campus.
