McKENZIE (October 1) — New safety alert systems, floor repairs at the gymnasiums at McKenzie Middle School and McKenzie Elementary School, painting at MES, a new roof, new windows and doors at McKenzie High School, and repair of the intercom system at McKenzie Middle School were all discussed as significant projects needed at McKenzie Special School District.

McKENZIE (October 2) - McKenzie Elementary held its annual Walk-to-School Day Wednesday with excellent participation. At least 302 students, 177 guardians and a few dogs made the morning trek, which was blessed with beautiful weather.

HUNTINGDON (September 27) — Janice Newman has been answering emergency calls as the director of the Carroll County Emergency Management Agency for 26 years. She retired Friday, September 27, ending her long career in emergency management for the county. Even on her final day of service, Newman issued a flash flood alert in response to possible flooding.
