CARROLL COUNTY — The weekend was filled with high school graduations in Carroll County from the five county high schools. The events began Friday, May 10 with graduations at Clarksburg and West Carroll, Saturday at Huntingdon, and Sunday at McKenzie and Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central.

HUNTINGDON (March 4) — The Carroll County Democratic Party will hold a Reorganization Convention to elect new leaders on Tuesday March 21, 2023. The meeting will take place at the Municipal Building located at 1274 Lexington Street, Huntingdon, Tenn. Doors will open for registration and credentials at 6 p.m. Convention starts at 7 p.m. and doors closed at 7 p.m.

The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the 72nd Annual National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 8 a.m. at the Carroll County Airport. The theme for 2023, is Pray fervently in righteousness and avail much emphasizing the need for individuals, corporately and individually, to return to the God of our Fathers in reverence for his Holy name. The national theme comes from James 5:16, where it says, “Pray fervently in righteousness and avail much.” The public is invited to attend as we pray for our nation, our state, our county, and our neighbors. NASHVILLE — The State Department of Labor recently released the unemployment numbers for April 2022, and small changes were reported in Carroll, Henry, and Weakley counties. Unemployment rates decreased in twelve Tennessee counties, including Henry County. Sixty counties, including Carroll and Weakley, experienced slight increases in their rates in April.

Speeding and Driving on Revoked License — Timmy Aderinoye, 20, was arrested on April 21 for speeding and driving on a revoked license. Sgt. Tony King witnessed a vehicle going 70 in a 55 MPH zone and after conducting a traffic stop the driver was found to have a suspended license. The defendant was given a 10 day booking notice.
