ANDERSON, SC — Former Bass Cat and Bethel graduate Tristan McCormick captured the St. Croix Rods Bassmaster Southern Open at Lake Hartwell this weekend. McCormick had a three-day total of 45 pounds. As a result of his victory, McCormick will be going back to the Bassmaster Classic.

HUNTINGDON (October 10) — A joint investigation by special agents with the Drug Investigation Division of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Huntingdon Police Department, and Carroll County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of two individuals on various drug counts.

ATWOOD (October 6) — West Carroll Special School District Board of Education approved the Fiscal Year 22-23 budget, that began on July 1, 2022. Preston Caldwell, director of schools, said he waited until the three new board members took office before addressing the budget.

McKENZIE (October 4) — On Tuesday evening, the City of McKenzie held a special called meeting where Ryan White’s interim tag was removed making him the chief of police. White, a 21-year veteran of the McKenzie Police Department, has served as the interim chief of police since September 17 following the sudden retirement of Craig Moates.

HENRY (October 8) — Saturday, at approximately 1 p.m., Henry Police Department, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Henry County EMS, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to Highway 79 South, and Mockingbird Avenue to a motorcycle accident with injuries.

Burglary/Theft — Caleb Huddleston, of McKenzie, came to the police department on Sunday, October 9 to report someone had stolen his cell phone out of his vehicle while parked at a local convenience store. Huddleston told Chief Ryan White that he had a flat tire and left his vehicle until the next day. The phone was described as a blue Moxee brand android smart phone.
