TENNESSEE (April 29) — Average gasoline prices in Tennessee rose 2.1 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.23/g today, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 3,821 stations in Tennessee. Prices in Tennessee are 11.2 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 1.8 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel fell 2.9 cents in the last week and stands at $3.98 per gallon. more

McKENZIE — McKenzie Middle School Baseball honored its eighth grade players on Eighth Grade Night at McKenzie City Park. more
ATWOOD — Five senior West Carroll Baseball players were honored on Senior Night at their home stadium. Each was presented a plaque, large, framed picture, and the honor of walking with their parents onto the field to be announced publicly. After the short presentation, the moms each threw a baseball to their son. more
McKENZIE (April 26) — On Friday, the McKenzie Rebels hosted the Stewart County Rebels. McKenzie had the first run of the night when Cole Brown hit an RBI double that sent Fletcher Holt home. more
McKENZIE (April 25) — On Thursday, the McKenzie High School Softball Team hosted Trenton Peabody celebrating senior night for their lone senior, Jaleah Moore. The Lady Rebels picked up a 3-2 win, improving their record to 4-9 on the season. more

McKENZIE (April 23) — On Tuesday, McKenzie hosted Gibson County for senior night. Despite a slow start the Rebels picked up the 4-3 win putting their record at 11-12 for the season. more
GLEASON (April 22) — On Monday, the McKenzie Rebels made the short trip to Gleason to take on the Bulldogs. The Rebels picked up the easy win by a score of 15-1. more

Aggravated Child Abuse — Felicia Elen Sarkozi, 32, McKenzie, and Robert C. Warren, Jr., 47, McKenzie, were arrested on outstanding Child Abuse warrants on April 22. more
Speeding and Driving on Revoked License — Timmy Aderinoye, 20, was arrested on April 21 for speeding and driving on a revoked license. Sgt. Tony King witnessed a vehicle going 70 in a 55 MPH zone and after conducting a traffic stop the driver was found to have a suspended license. The defendant was given a 10 day booking notice. more
Drug Violation — Wendy Love Calderon, 49, of McKenzie, concealed a hydrocodone pill in a clear plastic bag inside of her arm sling and brought the item into the jail. Jail staff discovered the pill during the defendants initial booking into the jail for her weekend time to serve. more

Quick and Easy Cobbler Melt 1 stick of butter in pan. Mix 1 cup flour 1 cup sugar 1 cup milk 1 teaspoon baking powder. Pour batter over butter in pan. Pour fruit over batter. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. Most any fruit will do. If using fresh or frozen fruit, sweeten to taste. more
