It’s time for Shavonya’s Third Annual Fashion Show with live entertainment, vendors, door prizes, and food trucks. Garments designed by Shavonya Porter with two special guests. The event is on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the Carroll County Civic Center, 201 Mustang Drive (Fairgrounds Rd), Huntingdon, TN 38344. Vendors open at noon and the fashion show starts at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 admission at the door. Kids 5 and under admission is free. James and Autumn Stephens of McKenzie announce the birth of their daughter, Myla Jane Stephens. The young lady was born September 5, 2023 at 6:59 p.m. at Baptist Memorial Hospital of Union City. She weighed 6 pounds and 9 ounces and was 20 inches long. more

Friday, September 8, 2023, was a great day for the annual Dr. Jerry Atkins Habitat for Humanity Golf Scramble. With blue skies and a light breeze the weather was perfect for a golf game. Eleven teams enjoyed a day of golf with all the proceeds going to Habitat. Upon arrival the participants were checked in, given a goodie bag, and received a meal from Chick-fil-A. A little before noon Michelle Sanders welcomed the participants and Mrs. Paula Atkins thanked everyone for coming. Drawings were held for sleeves of golf balls for door prizes. Before the participants left to go to their beginning holes, Brooks Jackson, youth minister at the Huntingdon church of Christ, prayed for the players and the work of Habitat. more

HUNTINGDON (September 20) — A medical clinic will soon be added to the three campuses of Huntingdon Special School District. During the September 20 meeting of the Huntingdon Special School District Board of Education, board members approved Huntingdon-based Evans Medical Clinic as the on-site provider of medical services. more
