Christmas is less than a week away! Christmas and New Year’s fall on Mondays this year. Our normal deadline and press time are on Monday, which means early deadlines for the next two editions. The deadline for the December 26 edition is Friday, December 22 at NOON. Deadline for the January 2 edition is Friday, December 29 at NOON. The Banner office will be closed on Monday, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Thank you for allowing our staff this time with their families.

Commencement exercises begin at 1 p.m. at the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 16835 Highland Drive, McKenzie. The keynote speaker is Mr. Joe Norval, principal and CTE director of the Carroll County Technical Center.

HUNTINGDON — Huntingdon annual Christmas Parade is rescheduled to Saturday, December 16 at 6 p.m. in the downtown area. It was originally scheduled for December 9, however, severe weather was predicted and the city leaders correctly chose to delay the event.

Carroll County Library is hosting free Beginning Computer Classes. Classes are one-hour increments, 3-7 p.m. on the following dates.
December 11 — Google Email, Google Docs, and Google Drive.
December 18 — Google Sheets and Google Slides.
Registrants must register for a time for each day that they choose to participate.
