McKENZIE (July 24) — The McKenzie Special School District faculty and staff have officially said goodbye to summer break and hello to the 2023-24 school year. While students begin school on August 1, all school district staff began inservice training Monday, July 24. more

McKENZIE (May 3) — The construction of a new multi-purpose building is one step closer following the action of the Board of Education of the McKenzie Special School District. The Board approved the issuance of debt, which allows the bond agent to seek buyers for the debt. more

Nikolas Heath of McKenzie is one of the two interns from the University of Tennessee at Martin (UTM) selected by L.I. Smith & Associates (LIS) for the summer term. The interns will learn from experienced industry professionals while gaining hands-on experience in their chosen fields of study. more

The McKenzie High School Alumni Association (MHSAA) is offering one $1,000 scholarship for a 2024 graduate of McKenzie High School. Interested applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a minimum ACT score of 21. This is the first scholarship from the newly formed alumni association. more
McKENZIE — Tuesday, April 23 is the date set for the TCAT McKenzie Class of 2024 Spring Graduation. Commencement exercises begin at 1 p.m. at the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 16835 Highland Drive, McKenzie, Tenn. The keynote speaker will be Mr. Joseph Butler, Carroll County Mayor. more
McKENZIE (July 11) — The 2023-24 school year is a year of change, according to McKenzie Special School District Career Technical Education (CTE) Director Susan Dyer. As career paths and opportunities change alongside vast technological advances, McKenzie schools will begin preparing students for a technologically-saturated world with the help of Tennessee Gov. The McKenzie Special School District Board of Education held a meeting Tuesday, June 14, at 5:30 p.m. at 114 Bell Avenue. At the meeting, board members considered the approval of budget amendments for the McKenzie Special School District school funds. They also considered for approval the 2022-23 School District Property Taxes and McKenzie Special School District Budget. more
Carroll County 4-Her, Paige Costello, 16, completed the Tennessee Master Horse program this spring. According to the UT Horse website, the driving force behind the Tennessee Master Horse Program (TMHP) is to raise the level of education and improve overall success of horse owners and producers within the state. more
