GLEASON (September 23) — Gleason High School hosted its 2022 football Homecoming on Friday culminating a week-long celebration, the announcement of the 2022 Homecoming Court and football victory over Greenfield. more

HUNTINGDON (September 24) — Huntingdon High School Alumni Association held its first-ever Mega Reunion with approximately 460 in attendance at the Carroll County Civic Center. The event was the culmination of the 29th Huntingdon Heritage Festival on Saturday, September 24. more

MARTIN — The Master of Business Administration program at the University of Tennessee at Martin provided fall 2022 students the opportunity to work directly under the owners and managers of local businesses as outside consultants through the Management 790 Consulting Project class. Student teams used all MBA competencies such as data gathering, analysis, interpretation, critical and creative thinking, and decision making when executing the project. more

HUNTINGDON (February 15) — A new roof construction at Huntingdon Middle School is almost complete, according to Dr. Jonathan Kee, director of schools. Huntingdon Special School District Board of Education heard that report and decided to purchase other real estate near the Primary School during the February 15 meeting. more

The University of Tennessee-Knoxville announced its second cohort of Distinguished Tennessean Scholars on May 26. UT launched the Distinguished Tennessean Scholarship in fall 2022 with the goal of awarding a tuition and mandatory fees scholarship, renewable for four years, to one outstanding student from each county across the state. more

On September 2, the members of the McKenzie High School Class of 1960 met for their sixty-third reunion. more

The McKenzie High School Alumni Association (MHSAA) has spotlighted alumni at recent local events. One of the goals of the organization is to salute MHS graduates in various ways, with more activities being planned. more

Commencement exercises began at 1 p.m. at the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 16835 Highland Drive, McKenzie. The keynote speaker was Mr. Joe Norval, principal and CTE director of the Carroll County Technical Center. more

McKENZIE (November 11) — Continuing a long-standing tradition, McKenzie High School hosted area veterans and presented a program to honor their service to America. The 10 a.m. ceremony on Veterans Day is conducted annually by the Student Government Association and features student presenters, the MHS Band and a featured speaker who served in the military. more

McKENZIE — McKenzie High School is celebrating Homecoming 2023 this week. Friday includes a parade, a community pep rally, introduction of the Homecoming Court and the coronation of the queen, plus the Homecoming game featuring the McKenzie Rebels and the Houston County Fighting Irish. more
