The 2022 session of McKenzie High School Band Camp was July 11-15 for percussion and color guard students and July 18-22 for all members. The camp lasted from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day, with the band practicing outside in the mornings and inside during the afternoons.

Chick-fil-A celebrated its ten-year anniversary July 19 with a little help from Sweet Jordan’s and the Snack Shack food trucks parked outside of Bethel University’s Vera Low Center. The celebration was from noon until 5 p.m.

The workshop is Monday, July 25 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., with lunch provided, at Bethel University’s Vera Low Center in Activities Room A and B.

NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Department of Education released the 2021-22 Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) district-level reports July 6. The results include Fall 2021 end-of-course exams (EOCs) and Spring 2022 exams in English language arts (ELA), mathematics, science and social studies.

The Farmers Market Tomato Festival was a great success, bringing in over 340 customers. Lots of early shoppers purchased the bushels of beautiful ripe tomatoes, which did not last long. Customers sampled and bought great salsa and tasted and received recipes for savory tomato pie and a tomato salad. Our fun “tomato splat balls” were a big hit with our children visiting the market.

Robert “Gus” Radford, Judge John Everett Williams, and W. Kent Jones will tell “Stories From the Past” on Saturday, August 6 at 2 p.m. Doors open at 1:15.
