HUNTINGDON (August 6) — The stories of Governor Gordon Browning, Governor Alvin Hawkins, and aviator Lt. Jack Jenkins were portrayed by Robert “Gus” Radford, John Everett Williams, and Kent Jones on Saturday, August 6. The portrayals were part of the history of Huntingdon during its bicentennial celebration.

Ella Jessica Reynolds, a member of the Boy Scout Troop 5252 and a resident of Clarksville, Tennessee, has earned the honor of Eagle Scout. She is the granddaughter of McKenzie residents Brigadier General (Ret) and Mrs. Charles Argo and the daughter of Jesse and Susan (Argo) Reynolds. Ella is the second female in Troop 5252 to accomplish the honor. A Court of Honor ceremony was held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, celebrating her Eagle Scout rank. Eagle Scout is the highest rank offered by the Boy Scouts and only 3 to 4 percent of Boy Scout members attain this prestigious honor.

HUNTINGDON — A volunteer support group wants to make the Carroll County Library even better. While the taxpayers of Carroll County and other governmental entities, along with other private donors, financially support the library. But more volunteers and money are needed, according to the new Friends of the Carroll County Library.

Mexican Nacho Cheese con queso Dip
1 -3pound box Velveeta Cheese
2 #8 cans Rotel tomatoes & chilies
1 -pound sausage
Cube cheese in crockpot. Add Rotel tomatoes and chilies. Add browned sausage, drained. Cook on medium for about 1 hour or until well blended. Stir to blend well. Serve with nacho chips or poured over taco salad.
