On September 12, I was told by the Veterans Administration Community Care to go to Urgent Care Walk-In Clinic for treatment of my elbow after injury in a fall.  Upon arrival, I was told by the receptionist they would not accept my Veterans Administration Insurance.  I ultimately ended up going to Baptist Memorial Hospital Emergency Room for diagnosis and treatment. more

HUNTINGDON (October 10) — A joint investigation by special agents with the Drug Investigation Division of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Huntingdon Police Department, and Carroll County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of two individuals on various drug counts. more
ATWOOD (October 6) — West Carroll Special School District Board of Education approved the Fiscal Year 22-23 budget, that began on July 1, 2022. Preston Caldwell, director of schools, said he waited until the three new board members took office before addressing the budget. more

McKENZIE (October 4) — On Tuesday evening, the City of McKenzie held a special called meeting where Ryan White’s interim tag was removed making him the chief of police. White, a 21-year veteran of the McKenzie Police Department, has served as the interim chief of police since September 17 following the sudden retirement of Craig Moates. more

HUNTINGDON (October 6) — Spectrum will extend high-speed internet, cable TV and telephone services to another 4,600 houses in rural Carroll County, thanks to federal, state, and a county grant. HUNTINGDON (September 29) — Carroll County Electric Department now has an established monthly rate for electricity used at commercial electric vehicle charging stations. The rate is approximately 25 cents per kilowatt-hour, including the base rate and any demand surcharges for the fast-charging stations. more
